2 Days Zagora Desert
DAY 1: MARRAKECH- HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS- AIT BEN HADDOU-ZAGORA DESERT.
Your 2 Days Zagora Desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora with Nomadic Tribes Tours departs around 07h30 AM, Our driver/guide will pick you up from your location and start your 2 days trip from Marrakech to desert Zagora through Tizi N’tichka pass (2260 m. alt) driving past different adobe Berber villages, and locals herding their goats which shows the best aspect of Moroccan culture and heritage. Stop in the middle of the High Atlas Mountains to take some pictures, for a break, and have a cup of Moroccan tea or coffee.
Upon arrival at Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou, you will have some free time to explore the UNESCO world heritage village, and its famous Kasbah, which has been used as a set for various Biblical epics as well as a backdrop for commercial and modeling photo shoots. Our guide will take you on a small tour inside the Kasbah to explore the magic of its architecture and adobe houses. After the visit to the Kasbah, you will have an hour’s lunch break. Your guide can recommend some typical restaurants in the area to taste the local and Moroccan food.
Getting to the desert :
Our 2 days trip from Marrakech to the desert will continue driving past Ouarzazate and will cross the Northeastern parts of the Anti Atlas Mountains to the oasis of Agdez. After a quick stop in the village center. You will get another driving along Draa Valley with its fortified Kasbahs and oases of thousands of dates palm trees. Draa Valley is known as the largest and biggest oases in Morocco.
Upon arrival at Zagora desert late in the afternoon, we will join a camel caravan which will lead us to the local Berber desert camp, and our camel trekking adventure will begin through Zagora desert waiting for an amazing sunset for about an hour. Then we will continue to our Berber desert camp. Dinner will be served tonight at your desert camp. After dinner, you will get ready for a fantastic drums show next to the campfire. Local desert people will be playing drums and singing local music until around midnight. This is the best moment to see millions of stars above the camp.
DAY 2: ZAGORA- AGDEZ- OUARZAZATE- MARRAKECH.
Early in the morning, we recommend you wake up to watch the magic view of the sunrise.
After breakfast, ride your camels again to meet your driver on the main road. We continue our second day from a 2 days trip to the desert from Marrakech to Ouarzazate. Where we will stop for lunch and visit some tourist attractions such as Taourirt Kasbah.
Early in the afternoon, we drive back to Marrakech crossing the High Atlas Mountains.
Your 2 days desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora will end in Marrakech at about 19h00 pm.
